Just like the soothing smell of roses fills the air around with tranquillity, the presence of someone positive gives you a similar feeling dovetailed with a spark of felicity. The question is- who’s presence - because everyone will have a unique answer. For me, those moments are something I can count on my fingers, but one moment which left an indelible remark and made me pen it down was when I met Rosie(a dog, just like a rose to me or maybe more). Maybe being a dog was something that made it different yet special, or maybe it was my fear from dogs :p. Having a dog as a companion wasn’t my thing, but after being with Rosie, I realised how it is. It’s like being in the shoes of all my dog-loving folks.
Sometimes I just feel all of it was God’s plan, to help me overcome my fear of dogs and understand them because I always felt like having one in my dreams. It’s just that the fear used to impede in between. But hey, say thanks to Rosie. The way she greets makes me feel so special. All my boyfriends were not so consistent with that at least :p.
I don’t know how come she always has the same enthusiasm while greeting. She waits for me by the door with a smiling face, open mouth, and wagging tail, ready to dote on me as soon I come in. I love it, how she so protective about me, that whenever any stranger comes in the house, all her senses go active. Spending time with her made me realize how she empathizes with every emotion I have. She is in high spirits whenever I feel escalated and wants to play; she sits quietly on her mat when I am infuriated and she is all cozy whenever I am in my blues. She dances with me whenever I practice some of my favorite item song moves (Oh God these songs make me go crazy! I feel they get the best out of me). I ponder, she is the one who can genuinely connect and feel my predilection for item songs :p.
I feel she taught me the importance of giving your best into the things you genuinely care about: your love, loyalty, companionship, exuberance, time and your unconditional acceptance and affection with a demand of only one thing in return - love, which makes her world go around as much as it makes mine. And that is what makes her the Best for the Girl. I wonder sometimes, even though we as humans are the most developed creatures of nature, still how most of the time we lack in giving and experiencing an unconditional form of love. (Strange but true, I feel!)
Above all else, what I perceived, is no matter what you are, whether a man, woman, or child, a dog is a friend, who is always there by your side. They won’t differentiate based on caste, creed, or religion. Their love for you doesn’t depend on such fuzzy parameters. You will just have all of them and all of theirs. So just feel honored and cherished to be theirs, because it’s a rare feeling to be felt.
